Artist History
In 1998 Rick Lord (Bass & Backup Vocals), and Pedro Reyes (Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar) combined their writing talents to form CABANA ROCK.
Both musicians had composed songs that combined modern day rock and roll with influences from their Cuban heritage to form a unique blend
of catchy songs with thought-provoking, colorful lyrics.
Later that year they recruited percussionists
Hector Garcia (Bongos & Backup Vocals) and
Jay "Papo Candela" (Congas), who would give
CABANA ROCK the latin flavor that would
distinguish CABANA ROCK from other Rock bands.
Enter Daniel Garbin (Lead Guitar & Backup Vocals),
a Romanian guitar "whiz kid" with extensive training
in his craft that include jazz as well as other styles
of music. CABANA ROCK spent countless hours in the
rehearsal studio perfecting their style and honing the set.
On drums we have John Schirmer, who brings with him 20 years of
experience, as well as various styles of drumming including rock, jazz, and funk.
Currently CABANA ROCK is playing the New York City circuit at clubs such as LA KUEVA (Queens),
Finally Freds (NYC), and C-Note (NYC), Le Bar Bat (NYC) as they continue to build a loyal following.
