Artist History
Db68 formed in late' 2001. After one month the band played their first gig supporting "The Relatives". Soon after, the first recording was complete and playing gigs became a regular activity. However in 2002, things began moving much faster. 2002 saw the release of the "If All Else Fails" E.P. This received praise from America's "Midtown" who then invited the band to play with them in their Glasgow show. Subsequent to this, the band has built a strong fan base and friendships with awesome local bands such as Pencilhead, Almighty Me, A Close Last and EightPagePullout who Db68 play with frequently. The band is currently writing, recording and booking gigs in and around the country! |

Press Reviews
Second band onstage were Glasgow pop-punks db68. Fresh from supporting Midtown in Glasgow (a show which could be the making of these guys) confidence was high and they bounced onstage to a perfect version of their latest EP's lead track "Girlfriend", which set the building crowd off in a fit of pogoing. Andy's voice was pretty much perfect tonight, on every song he kept tone and pitch exceptionally well and pulled off their cover of Alkaline Trio's "Private Eye" with supreme confidence. They played a set full of 3 minute pop-punk gems, not one of them sounding even in the slightest bit bad. If I had to find a criticism of the band tonight, it would be that they make their influences very apparent, but that can be a good thing and on this airing it definitely was. "Resigned" sounded like it could have been written by any number of the top US pop-punk bands, and they finished their set with a new song which the title of escapes me. This is the sound of an already good band becoming even better, and a few more shows like this will see them becoming the hottest thing to come out of Scotland in a long time.
