Artist description
Sadistic Smurf is a Pseudonym for Josh R, dark lord of the universe. Drawing of his disparate influences, from heavy metal to drum n bass, SS makes music unlike any you have ever heard before. Some songs are trance-rock creations; others are guitar-synth masterworks; others still are hyperfast trippy techno pieces; and the rest are massive walls of distorted sound.
Listen to SS if you have ever heard beauty in the sound of a blender; if you have ever wondered was it was like to sit on a cloud, then be thrown into a vat of hydrochloric acid; if you ever indulge your evil side; and if you have ever felt the hopeless desire to rebel against the easy access, 24-7 pop rock that so dominates our generation.
Bold words, yes, but for a bold new sound. Prepare yourselves! |

Artist History
I started Sadistic Smurf about 4 years ago, while fiddling around with Acid music on my computer
Originally called Savant 8, the band's earliest works were amatuerish, but really, really loud, and showed signs of the promise it would become.
As my musical taste changed, and as my budget increased, I have found whole new ways to manipulate the wavelength we call sound.
It's pretty cool. Check it out, you won't be dissapointed.
Los Angeles, look for Sadistic smurf on the concert scene! I haven't done a live show yet, but that doesn't mean I won't. |
