Artist History
Masquerade, (Al Howard, Jeff Bomarito, Dave Dion and John P. Slade) have been
playing together around the Detroit area for over ten years. They've opened for
bands like Humble Pie, Foghat, Quiet Riot, Edgar Winter and have shared the stage
with Kid Rock. They've paid their dues and honed themselves into great musicians
and showmen. With the release of their CD entitled "Every Day is Mardi Gras",
Masquerade will take their first stab at showing the rest of the world how much
fun a band can be. With excitement over the bands new release of their first
CD, coupled with the bands already substantial fan base, the days of being able to see Masquerade
in small venues is quickly coming to an end. Lately, when the
band comes to play even the largest rooms, people are lining up
across the parking lot waiting to get in.
Masquerade's music comes from the hearts of lower middle class guys
that party a little harder than the average people. There are
many nights after a gig when the DJ and radio get shoved aside
and the houseguest's chant for the guys to break out acoustic
guitars. Wild evenings that end with everyone sitting around
singing whatever the hell strikes their fancy until the sun comes
up and its time to go home. Sentiments like, "Share a morning
coffee and a laugh with my friends" - a line from the song "These
Things" (From the bands CD) apply here, coffee after an entire
evening of music is certainly something that occurs often enough.
The bands live shows echo these parties only amplified ten fold.
The venues just plain rock. The band's "Everyday is Mardi Gras"
attitude quickly infects the crowd. Ladies up and down the
street can be heard asking, "Hey, where'd you get the beads?"
It's all just plain hard rock fun... You shouldn't miss it |
