    Artist History
Jas Langdo comes from the legacy of Pablo Furama & The Heads, a cult that dominated the post-silverlake post-echo park scene of highland park. Somewhere up in the hills above Figueroa Ave in Northeast Los Angeles a breed of music was being produced that defied all definitions. A mesh of all genres electronic, garage rock, traditional blues and country and space music. Furama was never seen in public even during the performances of the Heads & many assumed that Jas Langdo himself was the leading force behind "The Heads/I.A." But no, he was only the popstar, the puppet, prepackaged for sex appeal...As it is now, Furama is wanted in six counties of the state of California for various offenses. The nucleus of The Heads was a ridulous assembly of Jas Langdo as lead singer, Furama on Fender Bass, & Glenn the Rocket Scientist on drums. The Heads/IA gradually moved away from the three chord garage jams reminiscent of MC5 & The Stooges. Maybe it was the dry spell were all the right people couldn't find qualludes to numb themselves to the noise or maybe it was the dawn of experimentation...nonetheless. On the surface, Jas Langdo left the band briefly to establish some contacts in Western Europe that took him to the Swiss Alps & beyond. Furama & the Heads were busily at work recording a retort to the latest release by Jack Ryan & The Release "Visions of the Night." The physical makeup of the group was expanded to include newcomers Madge Mercurio (auxiliary percussion), Luke Greasewood (woodwinds), Monty "Mojo" Elmer (alto & soprano saxophones) and Barry Mysterio (guitar). The psychedelic swirl of Jack Ryan left many baffled, including Furama himself. Furama was so inspired that he immediately wrote and recorded Visions of Gardena in praise of Jack Ryan's flair for psychedelic trickery. Upon the completion of the myriad of minimalist rock & roll, hodge podge dodger country-western & studio banter, Jas Langdo returned with the plan of a European tour. The band departed hours later with stops in Amsterdam, Brussels, Montreaux and finally the Lisbon familial residence of the Furama namesake. It was at this juncture that Furama & the Heads met Ben the Portuguese bullfighter who was abroad in Portugal in search of his talents in the bull ring. They all became fast friends and Ben was soon the strong arm behind Furama's mind control. Madge Mercurio abandoned the group for the states in Munich terrified with the idea that he could not get an decent bean & cheese burrito to cleanse his palette of all these saucy european dishes. The tour ended up fizzling away on the way to eastern europe due to the sad fact that attendance of the gigs was limited to American tour groups that were swindled into the concert as an authenic program of folk music particular to the region. Furama was neither a liar nor a thief & they booked it for Los Angeles. The vast majority of Jas Langdo’s solo efforts come from this period during which the Heads were in shambles. He was hanging out in many of Los Angeles’ swank supper club were a hybrid of lounge music and electronica was being widely produced. He appeared on this scene in full force with his own breed of ‘cocaine sex music.’ Making the scene weighed its toll on Langdo & after a few prolific months were he explored the possibilities of wall of sound by means of a computer in a studio on the Westside he was spent. Langdo had enough of the LA night life & found himself yearning for a change of scenery which led him to relocate himself to Portland were he now resides in the hotbed of indie and punk rock girth. What follows, we will all find out soon enough…
