Artist description
Silent Decay can be best described as a New Metal band, but the band prefers their own definition "Thrashcore", a sound combining the massive energy of Neo Thrash with the aggressive and varied rhythms of New School Hardcore. The outstanding element in their music ist the inventive and well-balanced mixture of different styles. You can also see this in their lyrics, which cover a wide range of topics, from sociocritical to personal subjects and sometimes strange trips through the ups and downs of the human soul. All the lyrics are in english.Silent Decay have a reputation for their aggressive and energetic live shows, where the audience is always swept along. The band is always giving their best, no matter how many people are in front of the stage.Silent Decay could prove that at more than 60 gigs in Germany and Austria (e.g. Muffathalle and Backstage Munich, Dietrich-Bonnhoeffer-Haus Gladbeck, Cherisy-Kaserne Konstanz, Rockfabrik Augsburg, Rockhaus and Shelter Vienna and a number of local Open-Airs and festivals). They played support gigs on the German tours of HateSquad, Darkseed and Deranged, the European tourns of Voivod andQ-Squad, and several gigs with Megaherz, Bananafishbones,Glow, Emil Bulls, Fleshcrawl, Garden Gang, Disgust and Haggard. At the Emergenza-Rock 1998, a European contest for newcomer bands, Silent Decay was two times the winner of the qualifying rounds and reached the 6th place in the Munich final (among 84 bands all in all). With that Silent Decay got the best result of all the "hard" bands of the contest. In the same year Silent Decay recorded a promo cd with 2 tracks at the Lungfull-Studios in Eichenau/Fuerstenfeldbruck. Autumn 2000 they recorded another 5 songs at Lungfull and put them and together with the 2 old songs on their first official cd "thank god this is only a game...". With those recordings the band could prove that they can convert their aggressive live sound into a well done studio recording also.Anyone who likes varied heavy sound should check out Silent Decay. You won't be disappointed! |
