Press Reviews One Spirit - "Battle" 9/10 By Nick Baldrian MHR Magazine, UK: One Spirit are a group of classic hard rockers from Texas,USA.and could be Americas answer to UK rockers Thunder. The one thing that is clear about this band is the classic musical roots of the 70's and 80's hard rock,and like Thunder each song amazingly wonders around inside your head,guitarist Tommy Quick's niche lies between Robin Trower,Ten Nugent,Carlos Santana,Gary Moore,Pete Townshend,Billy Gibbons and Jimmy Page,,whilst vocalist Mike Argo niche lies between Glenn Hughes,Robert Plant,Danny Bowes,Paul Rodgers,Roger Daltrey,Mark Boals,Lief Sundin and the late Ray Gillen, the songs are highly entertaining whilst displaying melodic anthems,songs like the excellent "Do You Think","Slow Down",and "Battle" follow the blues road,with some crisp guitar work from Tommy,my favourite songs however are the opening track "Staright Shot" which sounds like Saxon and Ted Nugent and the awesome dreamy Eagles sounding "Posse In The Sky". Overall this cd really works a treat with it's instant hard hitting rock tunes,the production also balances out the music,which is raw and raspy.I think we are gonna here a lot from One Spirit,If you like the Stuart Smith album then you'll find that "Battle" is gonna walk right over it!!! Amazing.
