Artist description
Fans of well-crafted rock songs with a unique pop twist need to look no farther than Seattle’s once for kicks. Consisting of members from now defunct Seattle legends My Name (C/Z Records) and Sourmash (it is. Records) once for kicks exploded into the Seattle club scene in 1998 and began blowing away crowds with their high-octane powered rock show, reminiscent of the Who in their prime. The band released a self-titled EP last November that spawned the local radio rock hit and live favorite “Bound to Break”. The once for kicks song-writing ethic is irresistible for any die-hard fan of great rock. This is emphasized heavily on their soon to be released full-length “Get Up an Antenna”. Recorded entirely in their practice room on four track, “Antenna” has more true feel and rock energy than many big studio records. “This record sound GREAT! Songs are excellent...guitars are loud!...Rock and roll!” says Kurt Bloch (member of Fastbacks and Grammy nominated producer for Nashville Pussy). Mixing amazingly catchy guitars riffs, a super tight rhythm section, and in your face harmonies, once for kicks is at the top of indie rock today. These aren’t your average stale guitar pop punk tunes that take 5 minutes to write...this is the future of rock! |

Press Reviews
"Holy stromboli! once for kicks' post-AmRep power-popper EP kicks a shit load of ass. Produced by Kurt Bloch and featuring the backing vocals of fellow Fastback Kim Warnick on one song, you know what you're in for. This EP is worth writing and begging for." - The Rocket (Seattle, WA)
