Artist description
It's wierd. . . flipping back through that stack of old CD's the other day, I came across COUNTING CROW's "Recovering the Satellites." I popped it in--and realized that Adam Duritz provided the seeds for this project. I took his moody chaotic acoustic rock feel, added some odd instruments (bowed psaltery, bamboo flute, egg shaker) and mixed in a lot of my own thoughts about God and Love and Pain--but the CD's are eerily similar. |

Musical Influences
I love to listen to Radiohead, REM, U2, Idaho, and Simon and Gar (but I don't much sound like any of them.) |

Similar Artists
I sound exactly like COUNTING CROWS and CAEDMON'S CALL in a fistfight, or maybe DELERIOUS challenging THIRD DAY to a spitting contest. On a good day. On a bad day, I just sound like James Taylor wit |

Artist History
Joshua, Steve, and Julia first joined forces to play for a Concert Marathon at William and
Mary. They threw together a set of 6 original songs in 6 hours of practice time and
proceeded to rock the house down. The songs from that concert form the heart of this
album, but other pieces flesh out the story, and the talents of Bob on bass and Tim on
bowed psaltery add intricacy and flavor. |

Group Members
Joshua Mark--lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and drums; Steve Souryal--lead guitar and
mandolin; Julia Tyler--piano and backup vocals; Bob Pike--bass; Tim Seaman--bowed

Acoustic guitar, piano, drums, and bass form the core of this album; additional accents come from bongos, bamboo flute, bowed psaltery, mandolin, an egg shaker, and a silver flute. |
