Artist History
Elwood is the creation of North Carolina native and now New York area resident/ producer/musician Prince Elwood Strickland III, who when not working as engineer on records for not-so-shabby recording artists such as Tricky, Mos Def, Pete Rock, De La Soul, DJ Muggs, Market, The The, Adam Yauch, Jungle Brothers and Black Eyed Peas, to name a few, is laying down his own songs that evoke a feel good summertime warmth vibe, emanating from deep melodic grooves. Elwood shopped his seven-track demo to a handful of interested labels this year and ultimately decided to sign with Chris Blackwell's entertainment company Palm Pictures. Prince is currently recording and producing his debut album at New York's Greene Street Recording working in the studio alongside notable producer Steve Lilliwhite. Palm will be releasing Elwood's album early 2000. |
