    Artist description
Chances are, if you're reading this, you know already. In fact, let's be honest. If you're reading this you're probably in the band.Hello Fred!On the off-chance you have stumbled across our humble site, then RUN AWAY! This site contains actual samples of our 'music', which has been medically proven to induce paranoia, epilepsy, thrombosis, tinitus and Housemaid's Knee. To date, no-one has ever suffered from Non-Specific Urethritis through direct contact with the band or its music, but there's always hope.Furthermore, any fans of The Police, They Might Be Giants, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Portishead, Blur or Leonard Cohen are advised to leave immediately due to the debilitating effects of hearing your favourite songs utterly slaughtered by a bunch of tone-deaf chimpanzees accidentally unleashed in a low-budget 1978 practice room under the arches in Waterloo. But I digress. What CAM is really about is innovative songwriting and new musical styles. Well, that's 'innovative' as in 'patching together a couple of other songs' and 'new musical style' as in 'accidently producing all sorts of bizarre noises due to general inability to operate simple equipment or play instruments'. But at least we have fun. Sometimes. So take a browse around our worthless site, let me know how crap it is and how many days trauma you suffered after foolishly listening to our songs, then go somewhere better.Cheers!

    Artist History
Pay attention! Yes you, John. And Emma! Put that marker on the desk where I can see it!Now, Crimes Against Music is a crap college band formed in summer 97 when Alan, Phil and Jeremy were drunk. They went to a room in the college halls and started to play. They experimented with unusual tunings (all guitar strings to F#), unconventional song structure (falling asleep in themiddle) and eclectic instruments (a CD rack and a wooden box). The 'music' was recorded using a pair of cheap earphones onto spare cassettes, and unfortunately, much of it survivies today. In just one night they wrote and recorded five songs, drank an entire litre of gin and got bollocked by security, who heard them from the other side of the gardens. They had started as they meant to carry on.Then one of the founding members - Phil - realised the true horror of whathe had created and emigrated to Antarctica for three years. The band grew rapidly as more and more members of the climbing club they belonged to obeyed the old maxim "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em", and the band now consists of a number of luckless victims. No improvement to be seen in the music, though...
    Group Members
Alan Geer: Songwriting, rhythm and acoustic guitar, vocalsA founder member, Alan writes many of our songs. He also sings and plays the guitar on a lot of them.Fred: Songwriting, Electric and lead guitar, vocals.Fred can actually play the guitar, as opposed to forming chords and strumming forcefully like the rest of us. His songwriting is also coming along nicely.Antoine: Err... well... cymbals?Antoine can't sing or play, but unlike the rest of us, this does stop him. At least until the third pint. He can be heard hand-drumming on some tracks. Apparently to a different song.Jeremy: Drums, rhythm and acoustic guitar, vocals, percussionIt's his fault. He started it. Jeremy is the band's teccy, providing the electronic stuff as well as singing and playing the guitar, drums and CD rack.Tom: Bass, mong, vocalsTom's skills have rocketed from sofa-filler to mike stand and then to bass player. The only member who ever practices.Phil: An honourary member currently hiding in Antarctica. Famously began a song, fell asleep, then woke up in time for the end.Steve: Electronica, song-writings, guitar, vocals.A veteran of the techno-ambient early-nineties Bristol band Round, Steve is the person responsible for taking take after take of crap and turning it into songs.Nathile, Tom, Chris, Andy etc.Other victims of the deadly scourge of CAM.
