Artist description
Try a dose of Upper80, the new high-energy rock band from the great Pacific Northwest. Their raw, driving guitar-based sound comes equipped with the usual standard features: aerobic live show, addictive sing-along melodies, and lyrics dealing with real-life topics ranging from inspiration to unrequited love. |

Artist History
Guitarist/singer/songwriter Brian Tashima formed Upper80 after he relocated to the Northwest from his native Hawaii, where he formerly fronted the progressive power-popsters Tone Deaf Teens.
In late 2000, Tashima met drummer Kyle Gilbert, previously of the classic rock combo The Zetetics, through a "Musicians Wanted" ad on the Internet.
After sifting through a parade of would-be-bassists, in the summer of 2001 the pair recruited ex-Trillium guitarist Bill Day, whom Tashima had met the prior year in an independent record production class at Mount Hood Community College. They talked him into trading his six small strings for four big ones, and the Upper80 lineup was complete.
