Hailing from Gainesville, FL, this quintet combines their varied personal backgrounds and musical influences to create an acoustic-based pop sound infused with prominent funk, reggae, jazz, and hip-hop elements. Fronted by the passionate and charismatic Chris McCarty, the band is driven by the multifacited talents of older brother Phil McCarty, the infectious bass and guitar grooves of Greg Riddle, the rock solid yet wildly emotional drumming of Gabe Fleet, and the wide-eyed energy of percussionist Julius Tobin. On tape, The Chris McCarty Band presents mature, well-crafted songs in a polished manner with lush vocal harmonies and a striking intimacy, while still keeping you dancing. On stage, however, the gloves come off and the band lets it all hang out, presenting one of the most energetic live shows around. To truly experience this band is to see them live.
