Artist History
This prolific composer, poet, electric guitarist
and multi-instrumentalist, from Miami who has
performed in South Florida and New York City on
his own, with his own band and with other
Latin musicians.Richard has been playing for
30 years. He has great belief in the music that
is flowing through him and has been encouraged by
the positive feedback from the Internet and from
live audiences wherever he has played.
He has recorded a healthy total of ten titles
over a period of less than four years.
Richard plays most of the instruments on his
albums using a Roland MC-80 sequencer &
Roland GR-30 guitar synth, various world percussion
instruments and of course electric guitars.
He continues to evolve his unique style, moving
easily from world and jazz to rock, blues,
Latin and a sincere fusion of all of the above,
though Richard calls it "Inner music".
This music does not follow a set pattern,
particular genre, nationality or social structure. |

Press Reviews
Richard Gonzalez
Illumination
Richard Gonzalez-writer, producer, Vocals, Guitars,
It's not clear if this CD is solely preformed by Richard himself, but i'll guess to say that it is. Done in the style of Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, Santana, Stevie Ray Emmerson Lake & Palmer and Journey, this CD is a complation of all of Ricard's works from 1998 to the present.
Gonzalez hails from Nesquehoning, adding his name to the top of the list of local excellence. All vocals and harmonies were right on the money, as were the guitars, and everyone loves the sound that you can get out of a Hammond B 3. All around, the composition, arrangement and productrion was professionally done. Personally, I loved the harmonic guitar riffs. (I'm a sucker for a good guitar!)
Track 6 entitled "It is the Love Divine" stuck out for me as a cross between a Satch-style, 50's melody, a little Calypso and good 'ol rock. Track 1, a guitar instumental called "The Ascent of Man" was choc-full of excellent riffs. Something I haven't heard in a long time. The vocal tracks on this CD were fantastic! It was like listening to Stevie Ray and Carlos Santana. Richard really has a winner here, and gives credit to our local musicians. It goes to show you that you don't have to go to NYC, or LA or Philly to hear talent. All you have to do, is look out your back window, or open your front door. Hats off to you Richard! If I could give you more than our normal rating of "4" I would!
Scene Monthly Rating: 4 Guitars out of 4 Guitars"...The Scene
“We were extremely impressed with ‘The Ascent of Man’ from his CD “The Ascent of Man’. Here Richard shows his manual dexterity as he plays his guitar until it weeps. eSoundz considers Richard Gonzalez a great ‘signing prospect’. The latin/rock style that is being presented from this artist is true quality material. We advise you to give this talented artist an ear.”
