Artist description
Interestingly, Chuck Palahniuk's novel then movie, FIGHT CLUB, has been an intriguing influence on Mark. Mark crafts motivational presentations to meet the needs of high school and college students, capitalizing on a professional agreement to incorporate nationally recognized author Chuck Palahniuk's character Tyler Durden from FIGHT CLUB. Having acquired an interest and acumen for helping young adults who feel powerless or uncertain about the threat of terrorism, Mark Stefanick and Career Volunteering, Inc. seeks young adult leaders to affect positive social change, and make their communities stronger through career development and service learning. |

Artist History
In 1989, Career Volunteering, Inc. ("CVI") was established by Mark Stefanick to fill an obvious need. Mark had found that many of his fellow college students were willing and able to volunteer their services in their areas of chosen vocation, but despite this good faith, they were unable to make the connections that were necessary for them to "give" their services to organizations in need of their services. In recognition of this "gap" in effective service provision, economic and community development opportunity and lack of sources to match qualified volunteers with the needs of not-for-profit organizations, CVI established and developed its concept for matching these individuals with available work experiences. |
