    Artist description
Dixie Jeter and her two sons, Jimmy and Ricky, form this family trio of true rural music. With Dixie singing vocals so much like they just came down from the Appalachian Mountains, you wonder how and why it's this far away from its origin. And, Jimmy and Rick on guitar and mandolin, respectively, playing so anti-technical, yet, real that your sure its from a coal-mining town way back in the hills. The addition of Mike Lowe on banjo and Clint Hoyler on bass seemed a natural choice and has added to that "coal-mining sound" that has become Molly Coddle.

    Artist History
'It's just the music that we know how to play and love. Even when we learn a cover song, it comes out sounding like us, which is really cool. It's funny, though, we couldn't make it sound different even if we try to.' With an old and rich family tradition of music on all sides of the family, Molly Coddle left the hometown of Odessa one-by-one and re-formed here in Dallas about two years ago. Playing exclusively in the beginning at Dixie's apartment pool for the for the wild BBQ and beer parties going on there, sometimes until 4:00 a.m. Rick and Jimmy even had the nickname 'The Pool Guys'. They've all built a repertoire of damn good originals and very unique covers of the songs they love by other well respected artists. Including obscure bluegrass, old-time, and traditional songs as well as one by Stone Temple Pilots and a really?uh?well Alice in Chains where they go from 'take me home' of Don?t Follow to the 'take me home' of John Denver's Country Roads and back just in time to finish almost undetected. But the originals are where it's at with songs of family, Dixie's Apache father, born in 1900, (It Was Someone He Knew), Jimmy and Rick's Irish grandmother and her final good-bye to the family (Speaking of Angels), of lost love (Once and You Could Let Me Be). Rick sings a few as well on an often sang about theme of if you don't like it, 'you can tell me good-bye...' (What I Wouldn't Do and Standing In These Shoes). Unfortunately, these guys haven't released a CD yet and only play outside the gates of the pool on a very limited basis. But their small cult following knows what the general public should be lucky enough to know soon - That, when they do release a CD and hopefully go on stages where we can all see them regularly, we've got ourselves a band that plays some of the most genuine, heart-felt music anywhere!! With plenty of energy it'll sure make sure make you feel like gettin' up and stompin? yer feet. And, to top it all off, they're from Texas!!
