    Artist History
The origin of Jambone Lewis can be traced back to the early 90's in Boston, where Rubic and Trevor met at Northeastern University. The early sound was stylistically eclectic and was dubbed a "rockfunkmetaljazzreggaegrooveextravaganza". Band name suggestions were debated over; some of the popular candidates were "F-Star 41", "Patton", and the 80's throwback "Sessions", until settling upon the humorous, fictitious "Jambone Lewis". The line-up included a brass section and they were known for their interactive, lively shows. The band began playing the club circuit, later expanding to include house parties and college events which helped broaden the Jambone fan-base. The band was signed independently and recorded a full-length album that was never released. Through time, various members came and went, the tour van died, and band morale was at an all-time low in the Jambone camp. As destiny then carried out its course, Rubic and Trevor ran into Incognito who was also studying ‘Music Industry’ at NU, bringing with him refined musicality as well as an eager business sense. The trio set out to create a new phase in music. FAST FORWARD 2002: “Jambone Lewis: Boston’s Premiere ‘X Pop Rock’ band (‘X’ meaning Experimental)”. What is X Pop Rock? This new genre of music combines exciting rich keyboard-synth textures, with smooth catchy melodies backed by a tight rhythm section that doesn’t miss a beat. The Jambone-groove is constantly pushing the envelope, challenging the listener, yet carrying enough of a melodic-pop sensibility to hum-on-the-car-ride home. “It’s obvious to all music-lovers that the industry is yearning for something new. The 4-piece rock band with guitar, bass, and drums is a dying breed…”, says Rubic (the lead singer/guitar-player). The boys of Jambone Lewis are not only musical pioneers, but are also saturated with new, creative business ideas which they are constantly merging into their marketing & promotional plans. They have recently started their own company (jAYEL eNTERTAINMENT gROUP), which is run by the band members plus two interns from the ‘Music Industry’ program at NU. It is only a matter of time before the industry picks up on the fascination of Jambone Lewis & X Pop Rock!

    Press Reviews
"I really like the radio edit of 'The Night Life'. Incognito's crystal clear piano sounds, mixed with Perry Toscanini's poppy, brooding bass lines, Trevor's airtight, intelligent drum programming and Rubic Drake's elegant vocals and harmonies all add up to a superior single. Some might compare your music to the big 80's pop acts like Tears for Fears, but this trained ear hears much more than new wave, keyboard pop. This track is totally relevant to our time and I think that most college radio listeners are more than ready for this brand of music." - Pete Knapp, President/owner Shut Eye Records
