Artist description
Harpdog Brown looks like a bluesman with his 50's spitcurl, sideburns, goatee, puffy eyes and a broken nose.
He looks like a man who has lived the blues.
When Harpdog sings, his phlegmatic growl speaks volumes.
When he blows a solo on his harmonica,
Harpdog has even more to say. |

Press Reviews
Harpdog is a great bluesman.
This set captures the way he puts his individual stamp on everything he does.
He is in total command onstage and enjoying every minute.
The addition of Will MacCalder is a bonus.
~ Holger Petersen ~ CKUA and CBC Radio ~
Brown is an excellent singer and bandleader
who reminds me a lot of the late Hock Walsh
and he has put together a program that you can often hear in clubs
but seldom so well played -light on originals perhaps
but heavy on blues feeling.
~ John Valenteyn, Toronto Blues Society |
