Artist History
Brian Russell has been playing piano for almost thirty years. In that time, he has shared a stage with the likes of Dizzy Gillespie and Clark Terry, and studied with artists such as the Rev. James Jefferson Cleveland. Since re-locating to Reading a year ago, he has worked both as a solo artist and with various local bands, including regular Berks/GPU JazzFest participants D3 and company. His original music has been featured on WXLV’s spotlight on new music, WMUH's weekly jazz show, and at the WEEU Community Cafe, where he was billed as Berks County's best keyboard player.

Press Reviews
“Monk, Jarrett, Taylor.... yeah they're all in there ..... Introspection is the usual by product of the approach to this genre. Miles has left the stage for Herbie to go off into the nether only to return to center the damn thing and give it purpose and flesh it out. You've got smooth on your side and a groove thatcha' just can't hide”.
