Artist description
Bet the Rent's well-crafted songs are rich with energetic rhythms, virtuosic bass-playing and jangling guitars. Idiosyncratic melodies provide an alluring foundation for tales of dueling young souls wrung awake by remorse--desperate to reconcile. : : : Imagine if PJ Harvey, Radiohead and Guided By Voices engaged in a menage a trois. Perhaps the bastard spawn might resemble Bet the Rent. |

Artist History
Indie rock band Bet the Rent began with guitarist Marcelo Zinn, bassist Carlos Gonzalez and drummer Scotty Upton, all formerly of Miami band Trotsky's Revenge. The trio were seeking a dynamic songwriter to complement its burgeoning original song repertoire. Katherine Kelly joined the band as frontwoman and Bet the Rent were born. Katherine's fine vocal delivery, smooth guitar playing and intelligent songwriting have propelled Bet the Rent in a decidedly thoughtful direction.
