Artist History XVirus formed in West Auckland, New Zealand in April 2001. Comprising a group of friends all having attended high school together, XVIRUS started off playing Earth Crisis, Strife and VOD covers but soon began to develop their own unique hardcore stylings with music leaning towards the experimental and oblique and lyrics dealing more with life issues than hardcore's usual address of social issues. XVIRUS had a change of drummers in late 2001 and then began live performances in Auckland's hardcore/metal scene to a more than positive response. In February 2002 XVirus went in to the studio to record 'BLOODSPOIL' their debut demo-EP, comprising 7 tracks.
