Artist History
Some Odd Sense has quickly become a force to be reckoned with on the Virginia Beach music scene. Formed in April of 2001, the band has already played nearly every venue in Southeastern Virginia, performed at showcases and music conferences in North Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, and have even shared the stage with national acts such as Better Than Ezra, Fighting Gravity, Butterfly Jones, and Virginia Coalition.
Plowing out their own brand of rock, with plenty of pop hook sensibility, Some Odd Sense draws inspiration from various musical sources. Upon listening to the band, one can hear definitely hear traces of the catchy, harmony-rich melodies of the Beatles, the thick, well-defined guitars of the Foo Fighters, or the sophisticated and emotional sounds of Radiohead.
From introspective ballads like "Afterlife" and "My World Now", to hard-rocking anthems such as "Chances" and "Parakeet", the band's songs are diverse, yet cohesive enough to form a sound that is unmistakingly their own.
In February of 2002, Some Odd Sense released a 3-song demo entitled "Catalyst". The CD included the song "Day Has Dawned", which received frequent spins on local radio stations WROX, WKOC, and WPTE. The band is currently hard at work on their very first full-length CD, due in early 2003.
