Artist History
A native of Colorado, Karl discovered guitar at
the age of 14 and immediately developed a passion
for the instrument. The next several years found
him practicing several hours a day and playing in
local bands that played a wide range of styles
from straight-ahead jazz to fusion to hard rock.
(Well, actually it was the reverse order, Karl
tells us.) He attended the University of Colorado
and while working on his degree in Engineering
Physics found time to follow his muse by playing
in University Jazz combos as well as various side
projects. It was during this time that he
began to sharpen his composition skills. With
each new song that he composes, Karl seeks to
challenge himself by integrating new playing and
arranging techniques while staying true to his
goal of creating listenable music, skillfully
played from the heart.
Karl became a father in October 2000, and now
finds it a constant balancing act attempting to
continue to develop his guitar playing while
maintaining focus on all the other aspects of his
life! |
