Artist description
Joanne Rand's voice is nothing short of fabulous. She's a storyteller as much as a singer in the old troubadour tradition. |

Artist History
Rand's twenty-year career has included performances with Bonnie Raitt, Richie Havens, Janis Ian and members of the former Grateful Dead. During the 1990s Rand anchored Seattle's hometown music scene and wowed crowds of up to sixty-thousand. At the same time Rand's quartet was voted Best Acoutic Band in Sonoma County by a California reader's poll.
Originally from Georgia, with a background in classical music and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Rand's career has taken her to far flung places: the Amazon jungle (recording indigenous music), Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and throughout the continental United States. Spurred by a passion for the wild and fed by a force greater than herself, Rand began her career touring nationally from her base as a homesteader in the Northern California wilderness. Since then her songs have ushered in births, graced weddings, inspired audiences to dance and sing and buoyed civil actions.
