Artist History
Formed in 1985 by John "Kong" Bunucci, Dave Wrenn, and Mark "M.E." Edwards and joined on vocals by Pat O'Donnell in 1986,
Overlorde released its now classic 5-song OVERLORDE EP on Strike Zone Records in 1987.
A change in vocalists found Rod Tyler Loaiza taking over in 1988 but Overlorde disbanded in December 1988.
Unknown to the band, the 1987 EP created a loyal underground following in Europe- specifically Germany and Greece- during the 90's (the 1987 EP fetching upwards of $200 among underground dealers).
So in 2000, Kong, Dave, and M.E. reunited, started www.overlorde.com, acquired former SEVEN WITCHES (Massacre Records) frontman Bobby "Leather Lungs" Lucas, and recorded OVERLORDE 2000...a 4-song demo CD (released Dec 2000).
2001 found the band promoting OVERLORDE 2000, getting rave reviews from US, German, and other international metal press, and beginning the process of record label negotiations. 2001 also saw Overlorde's official reunion show at POWERMAD 2001, where the band received chants for an encore.
2002 begins with www.overlorde.com getting its 10,000th hit, the Overlorde song BLACKNESS featured on the ROCK HARD (Germany) compilation CD titled BEST OF THE UNSIGNED BANDS, and opening its MP3.COM website with a new MP3 of the song OVERLORDE from a December 2001 "pre-preproduction" session.
