Artist History
Xan is a Rock/Hip-Hop alternative band whom's diversity have reached a plateau of success. These performers are from the Houston community and their ethnicity have acclaimed as headliners and featured performers at many clubs, tours, arenas and well publicized events such as: The Annual Bob Marley tour (1999 to 2002), The Houston Downtown Street Festival, Harlem Week (Harlem, New York), The Cynthia Woods pavilion as the opening act for Grammy award winning Artist, Lauryn Hill, Madison Square Garden (New York City), The Jacob Javitz Convention Center-Black Expo (New York City), The George R. Brown Convention Center- The Children's Expo and Martin Luther King Celebration for President George Bush and many prestigious politicians. Xan has also been featured as opening act for Grammy award winners U2 (Interscope Records). Xan has a strong following in their hometown Houston, Texas and abroad. These performers music has been heard on Disney Radio, KTSU 90.9, LUPL 1590 AM, Hot 97 and more. Xan has received honorable recognition for their involvement in the community on Fox 26 (Andrea Watkins), Fox 9 (New York City) from Mayor Guilliani's wife, Channel 8 (Street Flava) the number one rap show in Houston, Texas and many more. Lead Vocalist Zandria Harrold was introduced to the Arts at a very early age. She studied Dance and Music all throughout High School and then went on to study Arts/Communication at Texas Southern University. After college Zandria moved to New York and this is where she became a choreographer and lead background vocalist for Technotronix, Ya-Kid-K and toured on the Cindy Crawford's Revlon "Shake your Body" tour. Zandria also choreographed for Geto-Boys, Grammy award winning producer for Michael Jackson, Teddy Riley (Blackstreet and Wreck-n-Effect). Zandria choreographed and appeared in many videos such as: No Harm's Way (Directed by: Denzel Washington), Patti Austin, Kool G. Rap, Naughty by Nature, M.T.V's Grind, H.B.O's Def Comedy Jam and many more. Zandria recorded her first single entitled, Music at New York City's Hit Factory recording studio. Music debuted as number 12 overseas on Billboard's Dance charts. Zandria founded Mi-Ty-Rion Children's Network in 1995 and these performers have been seen on Apollo (UPN 20) and on many Disney Productions. Zandria continues to flourish as lead vocalist for her band Xan, she has written and recorded (2) albums within the last year. Xan has also sold 80,000 units independently, all proceeds are going to building a Community Center in the Independence Heights area. Xan will be releasing their first single on My-Ty-Rion Music, "Not Going Under" on March 24, 2001, My-Ty-Rion Music was formed in 2001. |
