Artist History
Boy spends coldest winter in history playing songs in headphones on a Tascam 4track recorder. In the solace of synth fuzz and whirling leslies he finds warmth and protection from the January winds howling through the walls of his Minneapolis home. As spring was finally coming on the album "Blood and Clover" was completed and released upon the world in June, 2002. A band, no, not a band, a SUPERGROUP! was formed of the finest minstrels available. Some were found at pool tables in Dinkytown. Some were found in the Clown Lounge. Some were found in the kitchen. Press Reviews
Blood & Clover melts with ease from laid-back, ironic funk clever, sunburned pop, to bluesy, heatstroked rock. Dan Haugen, Lost Cause
[Blood and Clover’s] slack, gritty-sounding production creates a light, playful sound, recalling Syd Barrett sans psychedelia. Marcie Hill, City Pages
[Vicious Vicious is] like a greasier New Order with two capable guitarists and a record-full of great songs (titled "Blood and Clover"). Chris Riemenschneider, Star Tribune
The music is wry and inventive. . . "Shake That Ass on the Dancefloor," a whisper-sexy, snickering hip-hop lampoon, suggests Beck's nudge-nudge-wink-winking, and "Sinister Summer" minces about like Donovan's "Mellow Yellow" without the stoner grin. Marcie Hill, City Pages
