Artist History
The Turn It Ups were created in early July of 2001 by Paul Koehler (Silverstein, Axis Of Interval) and Ryan Henderson (Axis Of Interval), with the aspirations of becoming an 'indie pop' band along the same lines as The Stereo. The two wrote a few songs and then several weeks later long time friend and guitarist Kevin Kennaley joined in on the project. The band began looking for a bassist and Kevin suggested fellow Simpleton band mate Ryan Bruce for the position. Together the band practiced with this line-up many times, writing and perfecting material. By the end of summer 2001, the band recorded a 4 song instrumental demo at Ryan Bruce's RISE Recordings.
Many months would go by as the project was put on hold. Eventually, everyone involved with the project realized how much they missed the band and began practicing again. However, a singer was still missing from the equation to make the band complete. After scanning the local music scene for the perfect candidate to fill the role, Alex Tindal was selected. The band began practicing with a singer and feeling that the music was now complete, as was the band.
With the ring of 2003 ment a parting with drummer Paul Kohler and the welcoming of a new member. Former bass player Ryan Bruce moved to the drums and long time friend Paul Shields entered the family on bass. The new line up promises more energy and is guaranteed to please. |
