Artist History
Using their ever intensifying love of music to fuel their artistic ventures, the Afterglows have been delighting fans with their diverse and energetic blend of Punk, Ska, and Metal, just to name a few genres. Formed during the turn of the century, the band now consists of Drummer Mike Mollura, Guitarist/Vocalist Hiester Lotz, and Bassist/Vocalist Imix Shish. The trio is young, average age being 20, and they have set off on a creative burst that shows no signs of letting up until the turn of the next century. They always seem to be adding droves of new songs to their already blazing live set. They started things off by quickly recording and self-releasing the EP Running Out of Options, followed up by their self release of Burnin’ Down the House, in March of 2001.
After releasing Burnin' Down the House to a sold out crowd, they played many shows around the area during the summer, finally stepping back into the recording studio with producer Frank Phobia and engineer Mike Radka in late summer. The Afterglows emerged with You Don’t Know the Half of It!, an 11-song work of art which was recently released on indie label drp records. The disc was unveiled at another sold out show, and is already being hailed as “an instant classic”, and “one of the best local records in a long time”. The first single "Attack of the 40' Woman", a pop-punk song with shades of metal, is sure to have you humming along in no time.
