Artist History
Adam Van Ameringen.
Born in Toronto Canada on march 16 1981.
He then moved from Canada to Israel, forcing the learning of a new language as well as mentality.
At 9 years of age, started playing the guitar.
Musical influences at the time were the king and queen of pop, Michael Jackson and Madonna.
Soon after that, he was introduced to different genre of bands, such as "Guns and roses", "Skid row", and "Bon jovi".
Slowly made his way into the mainstream music of that time.
Later on, he was introduced to "Body count", "Biohazard" and
"Rage against the machine".
1995- Formed his first band know as "The underground".
Adam, at the time, wrote most of the lyrics and some of the music for "The underground"
The band itself was influenced at first from various hip hop artists as well as "Body count", "Rage against the machine" and "The red hot chillie peppers"
The musical genre (rap metal) at the time was one of a kind, and opened many doors for the band.
The bands original sound and style gave "The underground" exposure all across israel, playing at festivals bars and clubs.
Early 1996 to late 1998- "The underground" becomes a more agressive sounding band, attempting to mix in new influences. Adam, who was by then introduced to "Marilyn Manson", "Nine inch nails", "White zombie", and "David bowie" was thinking of finding a way to blend his influences into the bands.
With no luck, Adam leaves "The underground" to find something different, something where he can feel he can express himself.
Early 1999- Adam forms "Bornikuz".
The band goes into a period of non-stop rehearsals and in 2 weeks time finish working on 10 songs and ready to play live.
"Bornikuz" start performing live, sweeping people off their feet. Newspapers call the band "Bornikuz- the band that revived rock in Israel".
Late 1999- Just after Adam decides on a name change for the band, he gets drafted to the IDF (Israeli Defence Forces).
"Adams God" aka "Bornikuz" is put on hold.
The IDF took up most of Adams time, and the rest of the band members who were drafted as well.
"Adams God" is put on hold.. but very quickly falls apart.
Early 2001- Adam moves, leaving the place he grew up and moving to a new city, hours away from anything he knew.
Adam decides to not let the army and move "kill" his music, and so "Adams God" becomes a one-member band, producing, recording, writing and composing everything himself. He works on his beta CD for 2 long years.
Late 2002- Adam finishes his army service. Still working on new music, becomes determined to move back to Toronto Canada.
March 27th 2003- Adam lands in the Toronto airport, realising his dream of moving back to Toronto is now a reality.
Still chasing the dream, "Adams God" is finally here.
