Artist description
Acrobatic Ashes is a five-piece band based in Chicago, IL. Formed in the
latter part of 2000 by David Johnson and Megan Rox, the lineup has expanded
to include drums, bass, and keyboards, and in the process has developed a
sound, which is beginning to generate a buzz in the independent music scene.
Certain elements of their music have been compared to the works of
Slowdive, Belle and Sebastian, R.E.M., and "The Bends" era Radiohead, but
the music could be best described as lo-fi, dreamy pop. Over the last few
months, Acrobatic Ashes has been recording with engineer Dave Gierhahn and
receiving a substantial response playing in and around the Chicago area.
Currently the group hopes to expand its fan base with live performances and
independent radio airplay. |
