Artist History From Southern California to Moscow, The Seakers have been entertaining audiences all over the world while promoting a positive message with the Gospel. Their music is unique, fun and inspiring. Influenced by The Beatles and pop/rock, Stevie Ray Vaughan-style blues riffs, and infectious, toe-tapping backbeat rhythms, The Seakers have been a hit wherever they’ve gone. They are guaranteed to continue thrilling audiences with each new venue they play. In April 2001, The Seakers were assembled as a band to perform a two-week ministry effort in Vladimir, Russia. When the band returned in early August, they knew that they had an unmistakable chemistry and ministry together. Since then, they have played gigs from youth camps and rehabilitation facilities, such as Teen Challenge and U-Turn for Christ, to citywide outreaches, like Hope Fest in Boulder, Nevada. The group has played up and down the West Coast and was privileged to return to Russia in the summer of 2002 where they played to packed out venues of over 1,000 people and saw more than 1,500 come to know the Lord. Recently, the band teamed up with Blazing Fire Productions and has begun production of their upcoming debut CD, “In Focus,” slated for release in February 2003. Their sound is filled with ear catching, “can’t get it out of your head” tunes that can really entertain an audience. And above all else, they live what they sing. They are the same people on and off stage. The band is comprised of the three members, Joe DeRoche, Don Richart and Jey Gifford. Each member’s personality is infused in the music, while the band maintains a tight, harmonious groove. Don Richart is a 27-year veteran of every style of music imaginable. As a young drummer, Don filled his schedule with multiple bands, playing at every club and popular venue this side of Nashville (and some on the other side too!). Joe DeRoche is the bass player and holds down half of the lead vocal duties. Originally a guitar player, Joe has moved on to collecting and thumping vintage basses. Jey Gifford has been playing guitar since before he could grow a mustache, being raised up in a family of bluegrass musicians. His roots in bluegrass and blues/funk music have contributed to his raw stylings and lend a smooth feel to the music. As a singer-songwriter team, The Seakers goal is to use the gifts God has given them, to present the Gospel message in a fun, uplifting and entertaining manner. The Seakers are a non-denominational Christian ministry under the umbrella of Calvary Chapel of Valle Vista, in Hemet, California.
