Artist History
Neurosuction Laboratories (NSL) and Nookleptia proudly present to you a collection of
sound exploration and documentation. Members of Nookleptia performed, recorded, and
produced under the operation of NSL. Chris Turner, Alex Dodge, and Ruth Saringer created
Nookleptia and NSL in 1993. Together they collaborated with many artist and musicians,
influencing each other on ideas and movements such as the Fluxist, intuitive music, art terrorism,
“cut-up” technique, performance, sound instillation, reality tunnels, dada, music surrealism,
minimalism, and endurance, etc. By utilizing conventional instruments and equipment to
homemade instruments, found objects, and practically any thing that produces tones, we
embrace our world in perpetual harmony through discord. With a broad bandwidth of
influences covering the spectrum of sound synthesis, there are no boundaries. Tuning and
recording sound as the control and the vast contextual world around us as the variable; the
evolution of ideals, media, and communication are documented and presented to you.
