Artist description By combining home-grown rock, blues, R&B and country influences with her various musical and life experiences, Lauri Jo has raw emotional energy that can be heard in her piano playing, music and lyrics. With her unequivocal passion for music and life, Lauri has successfully originated a definitive American musical style. Transpiring in an inventive and dramatic performance which features her powerful vocals, imaginative keyboard playing and deeply expressive songwriting.

Music Style Pop/Rock

Artist History At the age of five, Lauri Jo was drawn to the piano and began her formal training. Her love for the piano has paved the way for her to compose pop music. Lauris vocal talents were illustrated with chorus and church choral groups and as time permitted she studied opera for several years. Having moved to New York City in the 1990s, Lauri worked on a variety of musical projects with different songwriters as well artists and producers. In 1996 Lauri formed her own band, A Girl Named Jo. Performing her own original music at various clubs throughout Long Island from Stephens Talk House to Nells and throughout the New York Metropolitan area. Lauri also toured Germany for 6 months as a solo act under the sponsorship of Marlboro. Lauris most recent appearances were 6 months touring solo, and recording in Canada. As of the immediate past Lauri has been recording new material. Her talents have enabled her to combine homegrown rock, country, blues, and r&b style. In short, Lauri has developed a raw, emotional, energetic, and edgy style that is clearly honest and evident in her voice, music, and lyrics.

Additional Info Lauri was just chosen to be added to a compilation album that will be marketed to 20 million people (which includes main stream radio play & distribution) in a demographic area of 20 million people. We are in the process of hiring a music director for this project and interviewing potential band members that have real concert experience. On the label front, we have had some serious interest but we have not and will not sign a deal if it is not in the best interest of both parties.
