Artist History
January Falls Behind is an acoustic trio from the metro Detroit area. The project formed in late November of 2001 when former members of the Detroit punk rock outfit, Twothirtysix, decided to work on some acoustic stuff. Kevin Van Duyne, Mark Noone, and Anthony Zack recorded their first EP, The Lake Michigan EP, in December of 2001 and released it independently.
JFB can best be described as a mixture of acoustic folk rock with a touch of electricity, giving the music a little bit of a punch, but still remaining lo-fi. Kevin's lyrics are warm and heartfelt and are anything from social commentaries to emotional pleas. The bass work of Mark Noone provides a driving force behind the music, while Anthony Zack's masterful guitar provides elegance, electricity, and power to the music.
January Falls Behind has already attracted many fans from not only the metro Detroit area, but also the Greater Cincinnati area(where Kevin is living until May 2002) and parts of the Ohio Valley.
