Artist History
Born and raised in the heart of the 1000 Islands, Healy & Orr have been playing music together since the last year of Highschool. Started out as a cheap 80's metal band called "the faze". Several hangovers and lead singers later the boys were now known as "greed". This lineup played a few choice shows culminating at a festival performance for over 5,000 people.
After a few more lineup changes Healy & Orr drifted apart when Orr went on the road as a lead singer with a motley crew called "the whiskey train". Healy stayed behind and played solo acoustic shows as he mastered the 6 string. Orr stayed on the road with "the train" for awhile playing various instruments in every hole in the wall that had at least one bottle of beer.
When on breaks from touring Orr would sit in with Healy who had by now attracted quite a following. After "the train" split for good, Orr started working as a drummer/vocalist with an original band called "Zipperbelly". This act was a moderate success selling some discs in Germany as well as placing a few songs in TV shows in Canada and the U.S. By now the shows that
Healy & Orr were playing together were standing room only and the fellas started playing as the houseband at one of Brockville's watering holes. After a bitter feud with management, Healy & Orr took their show to a new establishment, effectively putting the previous place "out of biz". After a slew of sold out shows Healy & Orr decided to document their current live show
by releasing a live CD titled "SPORTIN' WOOD LIVE" which was accompanied by a full length video. The CD has been a success as it captures both the energy and humour of the Healy & Orr show and the video has been broadcast several times on cable TV. Currently the boys have been in a brief hiatus as Orr completes work on his recording studio. Once the studio is complete Healy & Orr
will begin work on their next all original CD. |
