Artist description
Satellite Sky is the brainchild of musician Rick Owens. The name is from the album of the same title by the late Mark Heard.I like to explore haunting and heavy sounds to create my music. Every once in a while, I will include a guest musician or vocalist to complement the arrangement if need be. I listen to a lot of different styles and artists, but I want to remain true to who I am as a writer. If it reaches someone then I have done my job, but it always reaches me because it always comes from within, from my heart and soul. |

Artist History
I started playing drums in my local church when I was 8 years old. I still continue to play, although, I discovered a love for the guitar at 12 and it just excelled from there. My mother was a regular performer at the Texas Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas in the 60's and she cut a few records on the old York Label. My older brother is also an awesome guitarist and vocalist. I have had the pleasure of being in and out of some great bands from 1976 until the present. I have worked with some great musicians and have drawn inspiration from these great people. You know who you are and I love you. |
