    Artist History
Eleventh Hour formed in the late winter and early spring of 1993. They disbanded during the summer of 1997. They had four great years of playing, growing, and learning. It is now 2002, and they have returned with a clearer vision and sense of purpose. They are ready. They began as a cover band. Their intent was to play the songs they would never see performed in Texas. This did not last long. They could not resist the temptation to write and play their own music. Shortly, they booked their first few shows. Their first show was with Worlds Collide, the second with Shelter and 108, and their third with Earth Crisis and The Champions. They were off to a good start. This pattern continued. They developed a name for themselves, as "that hardcore band from Texas," and began to play more in and out of state. They played shows with bands such as Integrity, Life of Agony, Resurrection, Ricochet, Snapcase, Strife, Threadbare and Type-O-Negative. Their real break came after they released their 7" "Sifting Through the Ashes." They were offered and took Bloodlet's slot on their U.S. tour with Chokehold. They then went on tour by themselves and followed up the next year with a short solo tour and another tour with Chokehold. During this year they managed to play several shows with Crowbar. The year also put them playing with Strife again with their favorite band, Sick Of It All. The last two years, 1995-1997, were bittersweet. Their recognition blossomed and they continued to play regularly. Despite this, all was not well. Having had more line up changes than Black Flag, they finally obtained a solid line up, but they were limited to regional performances. They managed to play with Bikini Kill, Bloodlet, Culture, Deadguy, Despair, Disembodied, Endeavor, Frodus, Hatebreed, and countless other bands, but only locally. This was great, yet discouraging. They were anxious to continue touring and to release an album. During this time they released two songs on two compilations. The first was "Fault" on the Uprise Records CD compilation "The World is Yours." Other bands on this CD are Ascension, Brother's Keeper, One Life Crew, Psywarfare, Six Feet Deep, The Spudmonsters, Strongarm and Zao. The second was "Policy" on the Goodfellow Records CD compilation "The Difference Between Us." Other bands on this CD are Brother's Keeper, Despair, Disembodied, Endeavor, Harvest, and Torn Apart. Eleventh Hour came to an end in 1997. After some disappointing performances with Snapcase and Hatebreed and failing to record and release an album, they called it quits. This was the end. Now, with their return, they are scheduled to play their first reunion show with Strife. This is their new beginning. Following the demise of Eleventh Hour, members went on to play and perform with various groups. Darin Johnson sang for 1066. They toured the U.S. and released several vinyl recordings. Darin also played guitar and sang for The End of Julia. Walter Lee plays guitar and sings for The End of Julia. They released the full length CD "Sunday Driver" on My Hero Records, a song on Deep Elm Records' "I Guess This Is Goodbye: The Emo Diaries Chapter V" CD compilation, a Cure cover on Ballyhoo Withdrawal's "One Thousand Screaming Children: A Tribute to the Cure," and a song on Springman Records "Punk Rock Strike Volume 2: Punk Rock Strikes Back" CD compilation. They toured the U.S. three times. Raymond Estes went on to play bass for Pop Unknown and Total Chaos. His short stint with Pop Unknown put him on tour in Europe. He filled in on bass for Total Chaos for a successful US tour with Blanks 77 and L.E.S. Stitches. The current drummer, Jonathon Kitchens, also played for The End of Julia, and currently plays with Tyler, Texas hardcore band, Scara Brae.
