    Artist description
I'm just a dude trying to make money doin what I love doin. I love making music. I can't really describe my style like that because there is so much I like to try. Mostly though, I KEEP IT STREET. DON'T LOOK FOR SUPER-SMART RAP on my page. I like a positive message, but I like that with a shot of Vodka. It's hardcore, truthful, honest, and dirty music. I don't spare the facts. I know how to sound intelligent, but not use a bunch of big dictionary rap to make a point. I come straight at your ass.
    Music Style
Hip Hop. Mostly East Coast. Some dirty south influence. Beats are High Quality, and Production true.
    Musical Influences
Old School Hip Hop (BDP, Big Daddy, NWA), Black Moon, DJ Premiere, Beatminerz, Neptunes, Timbaland

    Artist History
Wassup Everybody? My name is Draus or Dead Serious DCS, a Hip Hop/R&B producer and artist out of VA. Imma tell you a lil bit about myself and what I'm doing. I was born in Rhode Island and been livin in VA (Norfolk) since I was four. When I was young, and living in the old "Lafayette Park" projects in Norfolk, I was exposed to Hip Hop. Back then, Rappin, beat-boxin, break dancin, and graffiti was what we was into on the daily. Back then, Africa Bambaata, Newcleus, Fat Boys, Run DMC, Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Flash, and a whole bunch of others, was doin it nationwide. I had to be like 5-6 or something like that. After we moved to VA Beach, I still listened to the Fat Boys, LL Cool J, UTFO, Ice T, Run DMC, and it began to grow more nationwide. I was like 8 then, and I really started to love music because my mother's boyfriend was in a band, and would let me roll with him to practice. He played bass, and had some keyboards and guitars lying around that I played with. After they split up, we moved to some other apartments and I aint have all that shit to play with. All I had was a lil boom box, and a record player with some bullshit records. I started trying to scratch then. I only had them lil disney records from when I was younger and messed them all up tryin to scratch on my mom's record player. My oldest uncle had the DJ set back then and a whole crateful of records, so I could catch him doin his thing when I went to my grandmother's house out in Norfolk. Even then, I was writin lil raps and whatnot, but never really takin it that serious. Even though I used to crank Dana Dane, LL, Salt and Peppa, and whoever constantly. I also started listen to some white boy music, since I was livin out the beach and there were more white boys around. We moved back out Norfolk, and it was culture shock to me, because I aint know how bad it got when I moved away. Actually, since I moved out when I was 8, I never realized how bad it always was. Now I was 12, and back out the hood. Wasn't no more white boys roamin the streets freely (except for the few that had to live out there too), and wasn't no more white boy music. It was wild. Fights was happenin everyday. Kids I went to school with were dyin, or goin to jail for everything (including murder). All I had to ease my mind was music. Back then, Boogie Down Productions, Salt & Peppa, NWA, Big Daddy Kane, Ice T, Kid and Play, Rakim, Stetsasonic and a whole GANG of other groups was runnin shit. Rap was explodin, and we would love parties so everybody who wanted to DJ would get a lil chance. My Neighborhood was Treacherous for throwin parties, and everybody out my way wanted to be a DJ, including me. I had the lil ghetto DJ set, with my uncles old mixer and all his old records. He had some mothafuckin classics in there too (Planet rock, Roxanne Roxanne, Fresh is the Word, and some mo shit). We would party every weekend, and it would always end up in a fight, or some shots. Once, when I was 12, my mom found me at a party at 1:00 and whooped my ass all the way home. Man, those was the days. I had my lil Keyboard, drum machine, DJ set, and tape recorder back then. I wasnt no thug, but I was lil troubled. Always gettin suspended from school. I was home a lot those days, and all I would do is mix and try to make my lil keyboard beats. My man JC (Jerald Carter) would get on the mic. It was my only love back then, besides drawing. When High School came, I wasn't doin none of that shit no more. I was still in love with my music, but I was more focused on the fact that I was a broke freshman, and needed gear and girls. I always kept writing, but I was into school. I was into hangin with my dogs, and havin fun. I spent a lot of time home from High School too, from gettin suspended. After movin to DC, and then Northern VA in 1993, I kept writing, and dropped out of school to work. I got my GED from the Job Corps out in DC (southwest) so I wasnt trippin off school. I was trippin off Money. I would still go down to Norfolk whenever I had the money to spend, and live it up for a weekend, week, month, whatever. I was back and forth between Alexandria, and Norfolk for years, just chillin and gettin into trouble. Back then, I was gettin into serious trouble, and just barely missing prison off some luck shyt. People I knew was dying and gettin big criminal charges. I never made a fortune, but was in the Alexandria, VA streets for years. Me and my man Burna 45 met up out in Colchester Condominiums where we used to stay and scramble together with the rest of our dogs. We also shared that love for Hip Hop/Rap, and would be freestylin out there off the constant. Plus, I never quit writing raps. We done had some wild times, and I gotta claim the DC Metro as home away from Hometown nowadays. I been out here for years, and love DC, VA, and Maryland. After realizin the streetsI went to School for computers, and graduated with honors. I worked in that field too. I also got married and all that. I got back into my love for makin music in 2001, and had songs in my head for years that I was able to make. Also refined my love for writing. I spent a while learnin my craft and getting better at production. I hit the books and all that shit so I could learn how to make high-quality tracks and what to look for in studios. I worked with a shytload of DC Metro artists for the past couple of years. Put out a few CDs, but Im still improvin every day and with every track. Im also STILL IN THESE VA STREETS, but Im older now and aint into the dumbshit. I started my Entertainment Company (Sonic Score) and been hittin yall with bangers ever since. Nowadays, you can find me in Alexandria VA, or maybe even Norfolk, Va Beach, Chesapeake, DC, Maryland, or wherever. Just know, Im bringin that music with me because all I wanna do, is get a following of people who know good music when they hear it, and aint caught up in all the hype. Imma keep doin this. Catch me doin work with DWI, Burna 45, Mr. Spitz, Bishop Streetz (my dog), N-V-US Entertainment, Leah Jones, Ester Jones, my homegirl Summa Cipriano, Lordz of Light, Nice Beats, Black Reign, From Da Sun, Chaotic, Laylow Hood, and a whole bunch of other hungry artists trying to make the best music they can. IM STILL HERE YALL, AND ALSO I WANNA SAY THE FOLLOWING: R.I.P TO: Carlos Vasquez (my dog, I miss the shit outta you boy), Jerald Crandall (I fucks with you homie), Chuck, Donnell Stepney (I aint roll with you like that, but I did know you since I was like 7), Larry White. All my niggas locked down in VA (Scott, Raymond, Tracy Worthy, Larry Backus, everybody else) Hold your Heads UP. To my Peoples. I love you all.
