Artist description
Shada was a name I (Tim Byron) used to record some stuff under around 1999 or so. Shada was the name of a Dr Who episode written by Douglas Adams (RIP) which was never finished because a strike at the BBC interrupted broadcast. It's pronounced "shar-dah."
I recorded about 15 songs under that name, and put them online and got some fans and stuff. I recently (jan 2002) decided to put the best 7 or 8 online at mp3.com.
Shada's sound was lo-fi pop. I didn't have particularly great musical equipment then; a beat-up old classical guitar, a Casio keyboard, the microphone that came with the computer, and warez versions of low-rent musical software. I also didn't know how to record things that well. But still, I think the strength of the songs shines through.
I gave up the name after 1999 because I felt that my musical style had changed enough that it would be a misnomer. The stuff I'm doing now is at http://www.mp3.com/Tim_Byron/ and stuff. |
