Artist description
Kirk consist of two sisters and a guitarist and are at present trying to re invent the full line up that they once had. Adelle and Richard met at university on a music technology course and were put together in a group to do a university performance project. From there they moved in together for the second year and it only seemed natural that two musicians living together would start to work together and form some kind of project. Adelle had already stated doing her old songs with her sisters in a group kirk, and Rik then joined on to that adding and changing songs with his unique guitar style. I think the reason kirk seem so unique is the blend of different interest and influences coming together. While Kirk songs were initially predominatly pop songs riks influx of
influence mainly based on heavy metal genres changed this in to dare we say pop-rock but with some pretty heavy outbursts in parts both in power and emotion, the emotion stemming both from Adelles lyrics and from the moods created by Riks darker guitar parts. Every song does sound different, we are not just saying that! But the one thing they all have in common is the fact that the lyrics are not designed to confuse, but to relate to everyone in some way and make perfect sense. (We Hope!) |
