Out of the Inland Empire hails an alternative/pop punk band by the name of "EL DOMINO." With their unique blend of powerful music and strong vocalization, the band has managed to stir up quite a commotion in their hometown of Temecula, CA. Furthermore, the band can be noted as spreading their sound nation-wide with features in nationally distributed videos, comps, full-length records, and radio play. In addition, the band keeps up a persistent touring schedule! Pee Records (Australia) just picked up the recent full length El Domino CD for distribution.
El Domino consists of five members, Cale Thomas (vocals and guitar,) Nephi Diaz (guitar and vocals) Brian Holliday (bass and vocals,) Miles Tillmann (guitar and vocals,) and Eric Tillmann (drums.) The band first formed in 1998 and has managed to play over 100 shows since. Clothing sponsors, namely Active Ride Shop, Warpt Clothing and recently OSIRIS SHOES, have negotiated contracts with the band. Furthermore, you can find reviews of El Domino in several punk fan zines including Scratch and Mean Street. Additionally, you can catch El Domino on such nation wide TV broadcasts such as SPEEDVISION and FOX Sports. Radio stations such as KRZQ, KROQ, KUCI, KUCR, KCXX, and 91X have all featured El Domino on the air. The band has recorded two EP records and a Full Length CD to date.
Currently EL DOMINO has finished production of their debut full-length record (The Antebellum Records 2001.) The record was tracked @ FOR THE RECORD in Orange County, CA. El Domino teamed up with producer Paul Miner (Death By Stereo Epitaph Records.) By combining talent with experience, El Domino has a finished product that absolutely is an accurate representation of their song writing at it's best. Phact Films is scheduled to produce the first El Domino video. The product will be distributed for airplay/promotion by early Fall 2002. Furthermore, the band landed a song in Mike Metz's Freestyle Moto-X video called “Metztopia.” OSIRIS shoes is soon to release a few El Domino tracks in 2 upcoming skate videos and a CD compilation featuring their sponsored bands. El Domino will embark on their second west coast US tour from California in mid May and end the tour @ FMX's RENO Freestyle Moto-X event. A European tour is penciled in for Fall 2002.
Knowing that the band is a job, El D is paving it's own path of self-promotion. Advertisements can be found in several national and international fan zines, promo guides and motocross magazines/press. A constant connection with newspaper writers has helped the band land several articles in the press surrounding southern California. El Domino knows the music industry is looking for business minded bands that will be self-sufficient. The band is looking to prove themselves not only as musicians, but also as employees of their own business venture.
