Artist description
Find a human whose life is a balance of extremes with a thirst for knowledge and travel. A cross between western mystic and provoked beast. Give him a guitar and you have the beginnings of One Tonne Monk . Musical styles varying from alternative blues and some heavier stuff to almost folk. Lyrically delving from shamanic spiritual depths snatched from the otherworld to base emotions ,observations and pure unadulterated decadent filth.

Artist History
Former frontman for "The Four Floors of Whores" and cameo appearances with enigma known as "the Hairy Nipple Blues Band" ,led the principal member of One Tonne Monk (Dave Roberts) to seek a musical identity of his own .
Evolving from the void usually occupied by boredom, altered mental states ,ritual magicks and artistic frustration ; Dave found a creative outlet in One Tonne Monk .Utilising his varied and limited musical skills which developed tragically late enough in his life to stop him from becoming a musical genius ,somehow helps to maintain his sanity and protect the local population from his wrath .
He records primarily from his one bedroom flat in Mt Lawley ,with modest recording equipment and extremely forgiving neighbours . Through association with Funky Mike @ Studio Ed the band continues to develop ,producing a more complete and mature style from the rawness of it's first recordings .
.Inpromtu performances with northbridge buskers ,in Balinese hotels , Small official functions and karaoke nights has given Dave the reputation amongst friends as the one most likely to sing. As he ages the anger is beginning to leave his music yet it retains his youthful (yet mature) hatred of conformity and the mundaine that surrounds him. |

"All those years as chief of that hill tribe in "the islands" has had an interesting affect on perceptions since the first album. He's almost back with us!" Journal of Australian Psychology VOL 6,3.
