Artist History the five members of emery came together at winthrop university in south carolina. They were previously members members of oogie brown, simply waynes and joe 747. they decided it was time to leave SC and move somewhere fresh to start a band with no distractions. seattle was the chosen destination, so on sept 11th 2001, emery loaded up and moved to seattle and started writing and rehearsing. emery began playing shows in january of 2002.
