Artist description
Copper Ocean, from San Francisco's Bay Area, is a
band with a unique sound that captures the influences
of the New Wave/Punk movement of the late 70's
and late 80's, along with the Britpop movement of the
mid 90's and mashes them into one melodic sound.
Though their influences are recognizable in the songs,
each song has a distinct feel all its own. Copper Ocean
are currently accepting bookings throughout northern
California. Contact copperocean@yahoo.com for more

Artist History
Copper Ocean started when Serena Joshi and Mike Chen,
both UC Davis alum, found each other in an effort to
finally put forth a band of their mutual influences.
Not wanting to play Ska or Punk like many of the other local bands,
not content to just jam in the bedroom, Mike and Serena convinced Eric Scharer
(a DJ at a local Britpop club) to join in as bassist. Original songs that
illustrated their common interests were soon written; Five of
those songs were selected to be put on the 11 Hours EP, which
was recorded by Nathan Grover of Love Is Chemicals. After a brief
search, Eric Bateman filled in the drummer spot to solidify the lineup. |
