Press Reviews
The Villager, Chicago, IL, 9/00 (Jennifer Cooper)
Folksinger Anna Stange has recorded and released her first compact disc, "A Family Album". The music captures Stange's spirited passion for folk music and showcases her vocal talents with such songs as The Midnight Special, Old Joe Clark and one of her favorites, Goodnight, Irene. Her style is entertaining, clear and enjoyable for all ages.

...while from the classroom at the store's backside comes the sound of children clapping and Anna Stange's sweet, cheerful singing.

Dear Editor, There's nothing quite like the feeling of finding an inspired gift, and this year I'v found one that fills five niece and nephew stockings. I owe it all - and much more - to Anna Stange, the Blue Island treasure whose singing has become part of childhood memories for our family. Anna has put out her first CD of toe-tapping, often amusing, sometimes poignant songs for kids and adults. From the time our daughter, Anne was 10 months old until she outgrew the toddler stage, we spent part of Saturday mornings in the company of little kids and their parents hopping and clapping to Anna's banjo picking and guitar strumming. The first time I heard Anna sing, my head popped up. Her voice soars sweetly over the music. Once in a while we still make a guest appearance at the old Saturday morning park district music class. But now we have Anna's voice filling our house with sweet sounds whenever we want. I even find myself listening to her CD on the way home from work, when nothing else will do to ease the stress of the day. So, thank you, Anna, for your music. it has become part of the fabric of our family. |
