Artist History
Born in Roanoke, VA in 1969 Stacy grew up surrounded by rural folk and bluegrass culture. He began playing music on piano at the age of 9 and picked up the guitar seriously for the first time at age 15. Adept at many different styles, he spent his teenage years in a rock band and experienced mild success for a couple of years in the underground. Frustrated with the direction of both his writing and popular music, he packed up and moved to California to get away from the pressures surrounding him in Virginia. After a year and a half of economic frustration there he fled to Colorado with one of his roommates, where he rediscovered his roots and fell back in love with traditional music, and renewed his love of songwriting. Although a very competent musician he prefers to focus more on the meaning and cultural strength in his songs than physical prowess. In Late 1998 Stacy moved to the Nashville area with his new family, and more recently to the north Mississippi area where he is pursuing careers in both performing and teaching music. If you are in the area and interested in lessons please feel free to give him a call or drop him a line. (662) 526-5596 |
