Artist description
Maeran are the combined talents of Dominic Ward and Stephen Wilson. We are ostensibly song writers and recording artists and do not as a rule perform live any more although we originally began as a performing duo. |
|
Music Style
We are English and proud of our roots. We write ostensibly acoustic and folk rock music, but do not limit ourselves only to this. All our music and lyrics are totally original and the sound we make, totally unique. We aren't afraid to dare to be different! |
|
Musical Influences
We were originally influenced by the work of Paul Simon, but long ago moved away from this to creat our own unique style, which is demonstrated in the recent Christmas Albumn, 'Light in Darkness'. The many people who have heard our music and possess CD's agree that they have not heard a sound to rival ou work, which we are proud to say comes right out of the heart of England. |

Similar Artists
It is difficult to say who we sound like because we only really think we sound like us. There are similarities in our work to an English duo called 'Show of Hands'. |
|
Artist History
We Met 1982 at Liverpool university and began writing and performing within three months of forming a very strong friendship which flourishes to this day. Both hailing from artistic backgrounds the union was very natural and has resulted in some truly outstanding lyrics, harmonies and arrangements. Despite going in different professional directions after university the musical collaboration has continued to the present and now yields some really memorable works, many of which are included in the five albumns currently available. |
