Artist History A brief history of the Me. The Me , originally know as the Me project, was formed sometime after the birth of Jesus Christ. It is unclear exactly when lead singer Sum Gai and lead guitar player Mr. Licks first conceptualized what was to become the Me, but it was most surely after the fall of Communism and before the McDonalds restaurant and Bioengineering Corp. went bankrupt following the (as it was referred to in the press) "orphan burger" scandal. With Sum Gai and Mr. Licks at the helm, the remainder of the bands musical needs has usually been met by a seemingly endless parade of drifters and musical misfits, none staying longer than was necessary to record a song or two. Many have speculated that it is because of this, and the fact that Sum Gai refuses to leave his apartment, that the band has yet to rise to international super stardom. When asked, in a rare interview, why he refused to leave the bar, even though it was 2:20 am and he'd been asked nicely several times, Mr. Licks replied, "the Me does not exist. If you hear of the Me, you must take a nap. If you are told you are listening to the Me, it is your own madness to which you listen. Any knowledge of the Me is not more than your own delusional fantasy. You must believe this, no matter how great my guitar playing sounds!" Through the years the group has weathered the trials all bands must face, drug addictions, kid-napping allegations, election year politics, and managed to not only stay together, but to remain true to their artistic vision. From it's inception the Me was, quoting from the original mission statement, "... focused on proactively developing new solutions through the creation of products with the express intent of benefitting all sentient beings, and, by extension, floating our egos." This has been, and continues to be, the standard that the Me strive to live up to..... I'm just kidding. "the Me" is just me, Kevin. I make music in my closet and covertly sneak it out into the wold.
