Artist description Solemn Assembly has been making a big noise in the Dallas local music scene since 1990. Joe Virus is the man behind the music, and is a founding member of T.I.A.M.P. Kollektiv and the T.I.A.M.P. Produktion Group.

Artist History The sound of Solemn Assembly varies from release to release,from songs that were spawned from a single noise loop, to fully orchestrated musical pieces, to ambience. Inspired by early industrial and experimental bands (Portion Control, Skinny Puppy, Nitzer Ebb, Throbbing Gristle) and also by early synth pop bands (DEVO, Ultravox, Fad Gadget, Xymox), Joe Virus set his creative mind to manipulate soundscapes into song structures and release a few demo tapes here and there, contributing tracks to a few compilations, and now finally, a full length Solemn Assembly CD. Solemn Assembly has opened up for SPAHN RANCH, MENTALLO & THE FIXER, SHEEP ON DRUGS, TEST DEPT., NOXIOUS EMOTION, PUNCTURE, and have performed at various benefits and theme shows: KNON 89.3 FM's The Grey Zone benefit, Pagan Pep Rally at Tunnelwerks, Spellbondage 2 at Deep Ellum Live, The TXIL/ DGL party at Art Landing, and an upcoming animal rights benefit. They have slowed down the live performances to work on the new album.
